When I recall back and
remember the day, when I lost my dad it leaves me teary-eyed.
Deep down
we thought after my dad’s demise our family home is the only place we can call
ours but that was only true within our subconscious mind. Soon we packed our
bags and started our journey to nowhere. Even the rabbits had burrows and the
earthworms had soil but we had nowhere to go and call it home.
Repeatedly I kept asking my mother; Mom, ’Where are we going’? She
replied, a few relatives of us live nearby, we’ll stay there for few days.
Days
passed and we kept on wondering from one place to another, no one would allow
us to stay for long and there’s nothing shocking in it as it is a very common
human nature. Many of them would not like to entertain an uninvited guests.
Apart from everything that was going
on, my trust in god was firm even when there was negative tone and bitterness.
I knew my god would never leave us alone. I always knew god has something
better stored for us. I kept saying to my mother, “God is just testing our
faith in the Lord Almighty” to lift her spirits.
Like after
every five days, today we arrived to one of our distant relatives who lived
alone. After a brief conversation between the two, she told my mother you can
stay here with me for as many days you want. Gentle behaviour of my distant
relative filled up my mother’s eye, to express her gratitude all that she could
do is exchange hugs.
After
scrutinizing for about twenty days, an advertisement caught my eye. Immediately
I gave a call on the number given. The very next day I went for an interview
and got selected.
Thanking that
woman wasn’t enough because when everyone was bitter. She was the only one who
gave us shelter.
“No matter who you are and what you have
achieved, never forget the ones who were there for you when no one else was”.
It is God’s way of helping through
someone known or unknown. People like her are blessings in our life. Cherish
Them!
Hope and faith in God are the biggest elements, during darkest days of their life, which brings out true strengths of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never, ever, be dimmed.”
